Tanque Verde Falls situated east of Tucson has some beautiful tall waterfalls and a canyon. There are a series of at least five waterfalls ranging in size from approx 20 feet to 100 feet. Some are relatively easy to get to (these are the upper falls), while some much more challenging (the lower falls).
The deep, natural swimming holes have lovely, clear water and this area, has been a popular naturist area for many years. A great location to play in the water and there is cliff jumping for the thrill seekers.
Be careful, as access to the falls can be extremely dangerous. Many people have died. Do not attempt the hike during a heavy rainfall. Rainfall can occur out of sight and cause a flash flood.
