Anna born in the mid-1970s met Steve while camping in 2007. At this point, had never been socially topless let alone naked. Steve who was born at the end of the 1960s had dabbled with naturism for many years as a way of helping to deal with confidence issues. It wasn’t until discussing naturism with Anna that the two of them decided to properly explore the lifestyle.
They have two sons born in 2009 and 2012 who make up their immediate naturist family.
Frustrated for years by the lack of real information available to naturists and the way naturism is often poorly portrayed on the internet they decided to build “A Naturist World.”
I had found naturism immensely healing in helping me deal with a birth defect and facing the issues that grew from that. I had been a naturist inside my head but very much a part-time naturist physically for 15 years when meeting Anna. Finding someone who felt the same as me in so many ways about life and humanity it seemed only natural to try naturism together and it just felt so right.
We decided to bring up our children with naturism being part of their lives too. We also moved to the Cornish coast to take full advantage of those rare glorious summer days in the UK.
In 2014 frustrated by the lack of reliable weather in the UK and the desire to enjoy new experiences, we sold our home in the UK in the quest for an adventure. It was the right time to do it because we were not too old! Furthermore, our children were two and five years of age. Therefore, young enough not to have education and friendships too disrupted.
Steve had travelled extensively as a younger man. I had wanted to, but things had always got in the way. So I suggested that we try living abroad. I think we would have just travelled with no fixed abode if we hadn’t wanted to give the children the opportunity to establish permanent friendships and have consistency in their education.
We choose the Malaga region of Spain because it has the best all year round climate of mainland Europe, the Spanish people are very nice, Spain is different to the UK but doesn’t feel completely alien, it is beautiful and has plenty of naturist opportunities.
We didn\'t need a large amount of land. However, we did want a high degree of privacy allowing us to spend the majority of our time naked. We purchased a small Finca set within three hectares of olive trees with some fruit and nut trees including pecan, almond, apricot, plum, orange, apple, figs and lemons. The property had seen better days and was not exactly beautiful. Although it did offer the most amazing views. We enrolled the children in a village school, situated in a small whitewashed community. They were the only English speaking children there.
During 2020 for various reasons that included missing family all the more because of Covid19 and it\'s restrictions and the children\'s education we decided to move back to beautiful Cornwall which is now where we are happily based and set to embark on another naturist adventure.
Neither of us spoke any Spanish, and although the children have learnt plenty through immersion in their school, our own learning has been embarrassingly and frustratingly slow. After looking after the children and helping with their homework, spending many hours renovating our home and land, entertaining visitors, doing basic life chores, having some leisure time for the sake of sanity and working on the internet, it is hard to put aside extra time for furthering our language skills. While building this website we learnt a lot about naturism around the world, attitudes and ideas and also found ourselves developing an online presence via our blog A Naturist Family.
Although we started creating A Naturist World long before we started our blog it really helped us to understand what we wanted for this site, what other people were looking for, what was right and wrong about perceptions of naturism on the internet, and we had to actually reinvent some of our original concepts and even changed the name of the site. We have also met some brilliant and supportive naturists via the blog and we hope to get to know them and others better on this site.
Now you have got to know a little about Steve and me, we suggest that you read the About This Website article to get to know more about the mission of this site.
We look forward to meeting you all via our profiles, Steve, Anna and A Naturist Family and through various groups, albums, forums, blogs, articles etc throughout the website.
