Situated off Route 86 Copperas Pond is a 1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Lake Placid. You will start climbing right away. When you reach the pond, you will see a large boulder, perfectly situated for a 10-foot jump into deep, deep water.
This pond is paddled very infrequently, so you will most likely have it to yourself, perfect for a nude skinny dip. However it is a popular short hike and swim destination in the Adirondacks, so you might have visitors in that sense. The pond is warm, deep, clear, seaweed and algae-free.
