Description

Spencer Hot Springs is a fairly well-known natural hot spring despite its relatively remote location off Highway 50, known as "The Loneliest Road in America." There are three, sometimes four, bathing spots made with cattle troughs, and props constructed for the springs water to filter inside the tub. These metal tubs are ideal for winter months, as the water seems to stay warmer longer. The other is a concrete pool, which gives a more natural experience.

The water temperature consistently sits at around 130 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, making this a great place for a naked skinny dip in the winter. Though camping near the springs is bad etiquette, you will most likely find one, sometimes more, vehicles doing just that here.

In either pool, you’ll enjoy views of the open desert landscape backed by the peaks of Central Nevada’s Toiyabe Range.
