Hi, I'm Sam and this was a great idea, as I'm sure many folks do not take the time to click around and read other folks' profiles.
I am an extremely happily married father and grandfather, now retired and living with my wife in the US Pacific Northwest. She is a Medical Technologist, which means she works in the local hospital lab. I have written four novels, loosely tied to one another by repeat characters but not dependant on each other for story continuity. Two are paperback and Kindle; the other two are only for Kindle. I spent 4 years in the US Air Force then later (jump a bunch of years) was a City Police Officer in central California. (Jump some more years and odd jobs, mostly relating to security) I pastored a Southern Baptist church in Colorado for 10 years before moving here, and now most of my sermons are also available for Kindle on Amazon.
After the dog died and the last child left home for the Marine Corp, my wife applied for her position here and we moved in January of 2011 as empty-nesters. We now are members of an Orthodox Presbyterian church because they believe and teach Reformed theology and appear to be the only one in town that does.
I have always been a nudist at heart. In my teen years, when I was old enough that when the family went out I could choose to remain home alone, the clothes came off as soon as they drove down the street, and back on only because I knew what time they'd be back, or I heard the garage door being opened. Had to be very private about it, because my parents were so horrified of the human body that they were never even down to their underwear in our sight. When my mother 'explained' the facts of life to my sisters and my dad 'explained' them to me, they were so embarassed we felt like comforting them in their distress (this was all revealed in discussion with my siblings in later years).
In my adult years, most of my circumstances of living required me to stay dressed (having roomates in the military, etc) but in the last 30 years or so, I've finally been able to attend naturist venues; the girls grew up with it, as we would go as a family. Since my wife and I moved here and there is very seldom anyone else in the house, if I'm home, I'm naked. She no longer participates in the lifestyle but has absolutely no problem with mine (with the exception of those times I pretend I'm going to answer the front door naked and she says "Don't you DARE!")
Like Grahame, I have opinions; I suppose most men over 60 do... but very few that I won't bend on. I hate politics so much that I seldom watch the so-called news channels. BTW: My wife and I are so much alike, we finish one another's sentences; so when I say "I", I'm mostly saying "We."
On the other hand, I am willing to discuss most topics other than pro sports, about which I know less than nothing and I hope as time goes on that more and more people here will want to have chats that go on, rather than just posting the occasional photo and hardly even saying anything about it.
Cheers and enjoy your nakedidity (she used to say "there's no such word," but she's given up on that - just rolls her eyes). EDIT: Sorry; I just realized this was supposed to be brief.
