It is lovely to walk around the house, on grass or sand, and some times other environments without shoes, but we also have to recognise our limitations.
Our feet definitely toughen up to different terrain though when we practise walking bare foot. Like with so many things it is all a matter of sensible balance.
As part of the Naturist Hiking theme of June I would like to remind people of this topic.
Do have a look at our article from 2021 https://anaturistworld.com/article/shoo-to-shoes
There are real benefits of spending time walking without shoes. I think a really good way to start on this is spending more time in your own home and garden without covering on your feet. Let your feet breathe and find their natural shape, let the blood flow unrestricted. This is not just about shoes but also about clothing items like socks. How many people feel a comforting relief when removing socks after a day out. Our feet are such an important part of our body - look at the ideas behind reflexology if you need some convincing - the average person really needs to give them more freedom than they are currently given.
I look forward to reading new thoughts and experiences on this subject.
