The article is now behind a paywall and it's not worth $15 US to me to unlock it. Based on all the comments above I have a pretty good sense of what it contained.
As Marc so succinctly puts, sex sells. Cosmopolitan's target audience I suspect is young single women and an article simply about naturism would not have been published. However, add a threesome to it and now it has some "sizzle". Yes, there does seem to be an emphasis, almost an obsession these days, with gender and sexual orientation situations. Does this help or hinder naturism? I think it's a mixed bag. Again, understanding that ANW is a type of social media, I have to say that in many regards this obsession has been amplified by the other social media platforms (Meta/Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok). IN GENERAL, with me the jury is out on whether or not social media is a good thing.
In summary, the emphasis on gender and sexual orientation is probably not entirely a good thing. One can only hope that it's a passing fancy and that it will die down in the future. All we can do is advocate in our own ways for things we believe in, for me, naturism being one of those things.

No the article is definitely not worth $15 - but I do not think we need to read the article specifically for this topic as it was purely an example. We have sadly seen many such articles - so we all get the gist.
Sadly there is a growing obsession with sex, sexuality, gender etc. This week end we read about some "Woman of the Year" award being given to a man. Of course it is more than just pc behaviour - it is a great way to get noticed and get free publicity.
Our son showed us a series of videos that an old school friend in Spain has been sharing on an app. She is 13 and the videos are all tight and revealing clothes with lots of emphasis on ensure her buttocks are noticed and shown wriggling and bumping and grinding. Thankfully he understands that this is rather "indecent" but what is this girl from a sweet little Spanish village thinking? The general behaviour of so many other women in media is guiding her to see it as "normal" and acceptable.
It is sad that naturism is mistrusted despite (and because of) the world falling deeper and deeper into a sex obsessed quagmire.

The latest trends especially on Tik Tok are all revolving around revealling something, as people play with nudity in a sexualised way, be it trying on see through clothing or, one trend which is particularly worrying, is young girls with no underwear on wearing thin clothing standing in front of a bright light, so the outline of their labia are silhouted. What is disturbing is that a lot of minors are being encouraged to do this, so in essence we now have young teenagers acting provocatively exposing themselves for validation. It is a dangerous game to play, especially as these video's are being shared in schools, and one does wonder if this is almost like training young girls up for only fans later on?
Tik Tok is a garbage bin and dangerous, as it is a Chinese based platform that does not regulate behaviour to the standards of the west, so in essence their is little child protection on it. The sad thing is, that these children are experimanting with nudity in an unsafe environment, which sexualises it. It is a normal part of growing up to play around with nudity for all children, they want validation that their bodies are fine and they want acceptance so they can feel at ease with themselves, but exploiting them and influencing them to share images online is very dangerous, as it attracts the wrong sort of attention, which again highlights the double standards of society, as within naturism they would be safe to do so, but instead they are pushed into sexualisation.
We have banned Tik Tok on out broadband router, so no one can access Tik Tok whilst in our house, because it is the most dangerous and abusive of all the social media platforms for children, not just because it encourages the sexualisation of children, but also because it directly targets people with depression, eating disorders and body dismorphia. It is a vile platform that should be brought down, as it does a lot of damage, not just for naturism but all aspects of society.
