My wife and I are sailing on the Royal Clipper this summer with Bare Necessities around the Adriatic. We have sailed on this Clipper before - it's an absolutely brilliant experience. We were wondering if any other ANW members would be joining us? It would be fun to meet!

Hi Chris and Sheena - I hope you don't mind but I have opened up this topic title to take people beyond one trip and offer forum users a place to discuss other sailing trips both planned and passed. As well as to discuss what to expect on a naturist sailing holiday or day trip  and extol the many pleasure of being naked on the ocean.


So if you plan to join Chris and Sheena on what promises to be an amazing trip in the Adriatic, or want to ask if forum members are planning to join any other future trip than ask here. 

If you have any questions about naturist sailing do share them here too. I know some members like Chris and Sheena have had wonderful experiences in the past.    

And if you have any useful tips do share them as well. Maybe there is a sensible amount of clothing that these trips will require, maybe a really useful item that you should pack that others wouldn't think about, or maybe useful advice in dealing with sea sickness. 

I can't wait to hear more about how the Adriatic trip goes - I am green - not from motion sickness but from envy! 

Just did a textile cruise in the Caribbean. I would love to go on a nude cruise. I am curious what to expect. I've heard online about other peoples experience. Some good, some bad. Any thoughts?

There are a number of nude cruises available from eg. Bare Necessities (www.cruisebare.com) and it really depends what you like. If you enjoy cruising on a large cruise liner with 3000 other like minded people around the carribean, this could be for you. Everyone can be nude on board as soon as the ship has left port and dress only for meals. 

We are not fans of the large cruise ships but prefer the smaller (only 200 passengers) sailing ship the Royal Clipper which Bare Necessities charter for a nude sailing trip annually. It gets booked up very quickly! Again, you can be nude except when in port or during mealtimes.

In both cases, the operator offers (dressed) shore excursions - although in many cases there is an option to take a trip to a local naturist beach if there is one nearby. 

We sailed on the Royal Clipper a couple of years ago and my article in H&E should give you an idea of what to expect. I am attaching the first page for you. I'll try and post the whole thing on my home page.

One note of caution : Some companies also offer "nude" cruises targeting the swinging lifestyle. That's perfectly fine if that's what you are looking for - not so much if you thought it was just a naturist cruise.
