Thinking abount Anna's comments on social media. Thing ismost of them are US controlled or companies. Therefore they tendto adopt the ridiculous American attitude to nudity.
There was a poll run in NZ to see how many parents appeared naked in front of their children at home. Appears causal nudity in frontof young children at home is quite common. However some Americans who commented were almost apperplexic that even infacts should see their parents naked.
Tells you just how far mainstream american culture has to go.

This is so true Grahame. I think it is hard to understand the power the attitudes in the USA to all things in life has on society around the world - particularly the western world - unless you are outside of America and feel the influence. Since the rise of the internet the attitude voiced by US based websites has becomea guide to people around the world about how we should think and feel. The internet is like a dangerous demagogue and can changethe views of a percentage of people almost overnight. Brexit would probably never have happened if the internet hadn't whipped a percentage of people into a frenzy with fake and exagerated stories and dangerous "patriotic" ranting.
Since Steve and I started promoting naturism in 2016 we have noticed that most of the fear - but also most of the sexual inappropriateness has come from the USA. What is sad is that we know that there are many members of ANW from the USA who are neither fearful or inappropriate - but it is the two extremes that have the powerful voices on places like Facebook - and it is foolish people all over the world - including the UK who listen - and will eventually start repeating.
How can any parent fear being naked around their children? In a proper world they never could be - but if they are told often enough by social media that it is wrong - they will believe it and not just in the states but everywhere. When a father (celebrity or not) is treated like a pervert for giving his baby a shower then a lot of people will sadly think - I mustn't do that as it would make me a pervert. But terribly even more people will think "I must pretend I don't do that so people don't accuse me of being a pervert." That is where the real danger lies. Those who fear not the act itself but the judgement. Because by being afraid of saying "Don't be so stupid - parents should be naked with their children" By being quiet the silent majority allow only the fear to be voiced and at some point that fear will become the majority as people assume the only voice is the voice to follow.
It is time that people start standing proud - not just about naturism but lots of other things - we don't have to be extremists, we don't have to be offensive or even argumentative in behaviour. But we do need to say - actually I think you are wrong. The internet is too interested in everyone saying "Me Too" and some of the cruelty that the me-too style behaviour has brought on innocent people is a disgrace - and the fact that the silent majority don't stand up for people they feel are innocent allows people to be ostracised simply by having an accusation thrown at them. Isn't it a shame that the internet hasn't encouraged a not-me-too attitude. "Actually I don't think this man is a pervert" "Actually I don't think naturism is shameful" "Actually a lot of the nonsense being said is not how I feel" Instead what we have is people afraid to say anything that doesn't fit into an every narrowing margin of attitudes because what they want is to be approved of and the sure fire way of doing that is to agree with any nonsense that is encouraged on social media - even if it seems to actually be damaging society itself. It should be called anti-social media.
So yes the public may not be as offended as we fear, and %ages of naturists may be higher than we may have thought - but it fear and mistrust is popular on social media in the USA the it will be everywhere and eventually the public will be offended - and maybe that is why we have the perception - because we can see that if we are not careful that fear will be coming right around the next corner.

According to informatio a parge number of people in the UK will describe themselves as Naturist/Nudist at least part time. This would have been in an anominous survey, probably online, where eople cannot be identified.
That is a double edged sword.
Firstly because people cannot be identified they are more likely to admit to those activities. If it was identifiable there would be a worry of being judged. As I said above the worlds biggest prison So that may make it a truer number.
Secondly there is always a risk because people cannot be identified that people say they do, when they don't. Purely because it seems like a fun thing to do and while they might never have the gumption to do it, say they do anyway.
The question is which of the two numbers is larger? I suspect (A) but I have no proof of that.
