This hidden gem offers stunning views of white cliffs and beautiful chalk stacks. Awarded blue flag beach in 2016. There are two areas to this beach; the main beach (Southern) is favoured by most of the public and especially families. Whereas, the "naturist" part of the beach involves a short walk to the northwest and comprises a sandy beach with a narrow strip of sand dunes backed by low chalk cliffs.
Most naturists tend to settle on the edge of (or in) the dunes. Although the dunes can be overlooked from the clifftops and there are some walkers along the waters edge.
When the tide is out, Botany bay is a great location for fossil hunting and exploring rock pools. There is plenty of exposed sand to enjoy when the tide is in, but due to the bay's shape the ends are cut off at high tide.
