A beach that lives up to its reputation!

Description
As much out of curiosity as any desperate urge to visit, I went on a reasonably quiet Friday in September, arriving at about 10.00am when there was still plenty of parking on Ferry Road and walking to the beach from there. The beach lives up to its reputation, beautiful, sandy and a sun trap. I wandered about halfway down the naturist section before picking a spot where the dunes meet the beach, spreading out a towell and stripping off. The sun slowly gained strength and by midday the beach was getting more crowded, a couple pitched near me and were as friendly as I'd expect any naturists to be. There was a really good cross-section of naturists, couples, families with youngsters, singles of both sexes and, alas, rather too many 'meercats' skulking in the dunes - but that's their problem! In the increasing heat I decided that a swim was in order and quickly discovered that it is a gently shelving bay so you need to go a reasonable distance to get out of your depth, the water was pleasantly warm. A lot of clothed dog walkers promenaded up and down the beach but mutual respect seemed to be the order of the day with those chose to/not to wear clothes. Another couple settled nearby, he quickly disrobed but she seemed more hesitant but after an hour put her book down and clearly decided "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and slowly undressed - it makes you want to cheer (although this might have been misinterpreted!). After a long, hedonistic, sensual day in the sun, I reluctantly redressed and made my way home.
