Thanks Geoh. The last two years of High School for me, were spent in northern California, living in Quincy, up the Feather River Canyon. So I can really identify with the major changes that fall brought and the preparations we had to make for the freezes and snows of winter.
Our house there was heated by an oil burning stove in the dining room, which was central in the house. Many nights I sat near it in a rocking chair and just watched the flame through the tiny window in the door while the rest of the family slept. Great moments for contemplation.
