As a newbie I'm still finding my way around the forum. 

Is there anyway of changing settings to get the newest posts to the top. Currently any topic I open starts with the first post.

Thanks Duncan and welcome - most of the posts follow on from each other and refer to and react back to things previously said so there is a logic in being able to view things in historic order - they usually also start with an introduction of what the topic creator is hoping to explore in that topic so it isn't a bad thing to see first when visiting a topic. When I am revisiting a topic I have used several times I just scroll down to the last post I read it only takes a second. We will certainly explore an option to jump to the last if the ability is available after the upgrade work. 

I have never seen a forum that works latest first - has anyone ever seen that and does it effect the flow of the ability to follow the conversation? I have always assumed you would end up reading reactions to things before reading what it is that people are reacting to, so it would become quite confusing.
