Durdle Door in Dorset, England is famous for (and named after) an impressive arch at the eastern end. Good for fishing, swimming, snorkelling and diving, the water is protected from swells by a partially submerged offshore reef.
It is a lovely beach with nice views. The chalk cliffs behind and chalk pebbles below mean the sun can be quite intense. Walking boots or tough soled shoes are recommended. The beach is overlooked from western coastal path descent.
