Machovo jezero also known as Great Pond is the eighth largest in the Czech Republic and the largest pond in the Liberec region.
The water in the pond reaches depths of up to 12 meters, and access to water is very gradual. With an area of 284 hectares, the lake is mainly used for recreational use. In the 1990s, this beach was purely naturist, but mixed traffic was officially introduced (a sign for "naturists" big inscription "Nudaplaz Klucek" is situated at the ticket box.).
The naturist to textile ratio is about 1:10. But most of the naturists are concentrating on a particular part of the beach, it is possible to join them, and even a less sophisticated naturist does not seem inappropriate. In the naturist section you can use refreshments, showers and toilets.
It is one of the most popular recreational resorts and a water sports centre. People are usually interested in boat trips, a big toboggan, beach volleyball and bungee jumping. Near Machovo Lake, there are two well-known recreational resorts called Doksy and Stare Splavy. Macha Lake is the quiet of the lakes and offers an official nudist area with signs.
