Fraisthorpe beach is popular with wind surfers , kite boarders and kite skating. the beach is huge and as the cliffs are so low they get a real strong steady breeze.
Until a few years ago Fraisthorpe was an official naturist beach, located about two miles south of Bridlington's main beach in the large sweep of Bridlington Bay below Flamborough Head. There has been nude bathing on this beach for thirty years or more.
However from the early 90's there began to be problems, leading to the official designation being withdrawn. As of June 2016, there are still Council signs 'banning' naturism, however, naturists continue to use the beach. They usually head for Earls Dyke (a drainage channel) which is about a 1 mile walk to the South.
