In the north of the North Sea island of Borkum, is a wide, fine sandy natural beach designated for naturist use and located in a unique dune landscape. At low tide, the beach can be several hundred meters wide.
At high tide, however, the beach loses a lot of sand, because the water reaches close to the dunes. Due to its spaciousness and in many places it is never too crowded even in the summer months and you will always find a quiet spot for a bit of togetherness. The official bathing season is from May to September.
The current of the sea is clearly noticeable even in good weather and the interaction of wind and tides quickly forms a dangerous area. No nautical sports are allowed right on the nudist beach, but you are allowed to windsurf and kitesurf in the area next to the naturist section.
