La Terrière beach is close to the town of La Tranche sur Mer and is the most northern beach of the seaside resort.
This wild beach with beautiful dunes and a pleasant forest to the north is consistently awarded the blue flag for cleanliness, and seaweed and other debris that often fouls other beaches further north is extremely rare here.
To the north towards Les Conches and to a lesser extent south towards the light house of La Tranche sur Mer are areas that are frequented by the Naturists.
This area of the coast is also very popular with regular surfers and although it is on the Atlantic coast it is protected from the severe south westerly and westerly gales by the Isle de Ré.
