Orpehus Bay, located in West Auckland near Huia, is an unofficial nudist beach that popular with nudists. In contrast to the other beaches in west Auckland, this is a small sandy bay that is sheltered and secluded. It is located on the northern side of Manukau Harbor and it doesn't have the black sand and strong winds and currents of the ocean beaches. There's a small stream and a cliff face to your left, and a lot of shade.
Most people seem to walk to the left, going around a small bend that keeps the 'main beach' hidden from casual entry off the track. It's also, definitely, the best part of the beach. On a good day, this is almost as good as it gets. A great beach if you are a newbie to skinny dipping!
