Waikuku Beach is accessed of State Highway 1, just 6km north of Kaiapoi.Waikuku Beach is a popular skinny-dipping spot near with Spencerville beach being slightly easier to access than Waikuku.

It has mile after mile of golden sand where the sand builds into huge dunes at the back of the beach and is home to some amazing flora and fauna. Popular with surfers (not much swell in the summer) swimmers, campers, horse-riders'

The beach itself is accessed from various points most are signposted and there is plenty of parking. If you want to go swimming I suggest you aim for the surf-lifesaving clubhouse, again plenty of car parking available here. Of course, the one and only problem as with most of the east coast is the prevailing easterly wind which can be chilly at times, so be prepared!
