Barkby beach is a long soft sandy beach located just to the east of Prestatyn’s main strip.
The north-westerly aspect of the beach leaves you a little exposed to the winds, hence the off-shore wind farms. Much of the beach is backed by sand dunes and grassy areas.
Head east at least as far as the second groin and look for a quiet area. (We visitied in August 2023 and a nude beach visit had been organised with the local council).
Dogs are allowed all year to the east of the promenade.
