An absolutely stunning deep long pool of cool flowing water located along the River Dart about a 45 min walk from Newbridge.
One side is lined with a pretty rock wall, with cascades at each end and beautiful clear water that reflects the tree conopy surrounding it.
Very popular with wild swimmers so early/late or out of season is the best time to visit for a skinny dip, although if you arrive to find it busy, there are plenty of other swimming pools to choose from in the area. There's another pool just a further few minutes walk upstream that never seems to get busy that almost matches the beauty of the main pool.

Getting There
- Town / County / State Newbridge, Dartmoor National Park, Devon
- Zip / Postal Code TQ13 7NT
- Directions Park at the main carpark and cross the bridge. On the right will be another few parking spaces with a small wooden bridge and gate behind them. Go through this gate then simply follow the path upstream with the Riiver to your right. The path is mostly well kept, fairly level with a few steeper inclines later on, so is achievable for most. Keep following the path as it crosses a brook with a waterfall to the left, then after a hundred or so more yards you will eventually reach a stile. Clamber over this and follow the rugged path down and the Sharrah Pool area is a short distance to your right.
