Otara, bay of plenty, New Zealand is a secluded and delightful beach reported to be one of the nicest beaches on the peninsular. Golden sand. Forest walks. Lookout point. A bit off the beaten track but that is part of its attraction as hardly anyone goes there.
There are always dangerous rips as with any NZ Beach so be aware and swim safe. There is shade from pohutukawa trees and a river outlet making a pool for little ones. For the naturist area, turn left and use the far end of the beach.
