Otama Beach is located on the northeast coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. The remote 2 km long white-sand beach is backed by a large protected natural dune system and is is very picturesque beach with lots of Pohutukawa trees along the edge of the beach which gives you some welcome shade in the hot sun. It's a clothing optional beach and when it's not crowded it is a pretty paradisical place.
Head North about 400 meters up the beach, which is the area most used by naturists. There are also some nice rocks to explore on the west end near low tide, and an estuary on the east end.

- Directions Getting to Otama Beach is simple. At Kuaotunu turn right off the SH25 and continue onto Black Jack Road, it is a narrow road, so care will need to be taken.
After approximately 2.5- 3 Km you will reach Otama Beach. Continue here for a further 1.5 Km and you will come to a car park. It is here you will find a track that will lead you down to the beach.
