The beach of Preveli also known as Finikas Beach is found on the southern coast of Crete.
This hidden gem is an oasis of palm trees with crystalline turquoise waters and stunning surroundings of giant cliffs and the Kourtaliotis river which flows gently into the sea. You will find due to the seclusion of the cliffs naturist swimming and sun bathing is possible here.
The beach is made up of small stones which might be made easier to walk along (and more gentle on the feet) with beach shoes.

- Directions Before descending the cliffs to head to this beach, look around at the spectacular mountain and seaside scenes. The descent is over rough hewn stone steps several hundreds of feet down (but not a difficult ascent back later on).The drive will take you along rough, bouldery and occasionally precipitous road.The easiest way to come is by boat from Plakias.
