Falassarna bay is located in the western part of Cape Gramvousa and is one of the most famous beaches in Greece. It has won awards in the past for being the best beach in crete. This enormous beach consists of five consecutive beaches.
If you head north the bay is divided in half by a sand dune and a few rocks. The area of this section of beach is quieter and lacks facilities. This part of the beach is sand but changes to stones in the water and is popular with naturists.
The water is shallow for a long way and crystal clear, ideal for children and seeing the underwater marine life. Nearby, there is the chapel of Agia Paraskevi which has natural fresh spring water. Dominated by textiles, (only ever a few naturists at any one time), this beach is set in a lovely location but it's a long and steep walk.
