Costa Nova beach located 3km south of Barra, in Aveiro, is famous for its colourful striped houses which were built by fishermen as shelters the huts have been converted into rather characteristic holiday homes.
The beach offers very fine sand and is usually windy. The sea is very scrambled, which is customary on the northern beaches of the country and is much appreciated by surfers.
To the back of the beach is a lagoon which offers further opportunities for water sports such as sailing, rowing, motorboats and water skiing.In the area south of the Costa Nova campsite (south of the village), for more than a kilometer, naturism is practiced.

- Directions To get to the Costa Nova Beach, take the A25 to Aveiro-Sul to Praia da Barra, and turn left to the south, along the Ria de Aveiro. After passing the village of Costa Nova, you will pass by the Camping Park and, immediately after, you will see parking spaces near the trees.A path of sand and beaten earth, amid typical coastal vegetation, leads to the beach, after approx 250 meters on foot.
