Praia do Trafal is located between Faro and Quarteira, along the southern Algarve coast. This wide sandy beach at approx 800 meters long, receives only a low number of visitors.
It is popular with nudists. You can get to further bathing beaches in either direction. To the north-west is the pine-clad lagoon landscape of Praia do Almargem, and to the south-east lies Praia de Vale do Lobo, which is surrounded by holiday resorts.

- Directions The road to Praia do Trafal beach is bumpy but it's worth the juddery journey. Directions: tarmac road exit east of Quarteira, following the direction of Almancil. The beach is signposted Trafal after bypass access entrance at 300m, the path then continues for 1.5 km. Ample parking.The path to the beaches goes through a broad valley areas, of old mills and extensive agricultural fields and ancient olive trees, oaks and carob trees, surround you.
