Praia do Meco is located near Alfarim, 40 km south of Lisbon, situated in the middle of a natural park called ‘Serra da Arrabida’.
A large beautiful beach is protected by high cliffs, whereupon entry people head towards to the left where there is a large dune area to which many enjoy practicing naturism. To the right-hand side upon entering the beach is where you will find beach amenities are situated.
The waves were very strong sometimes, so be careful when you enter (and especially when you leave the water). Being the Atlantic ocean you will find the water temperature is rather cold, but that is normal in Portugal and on a sunny and hot day really refreshing.
You will find many para-gliders enjoying their sport. This beach also enjoys small springs (drinking water) and a green mud (argil) for skin treatments.
