Halfway between El Cotillo and Corralejo on the north coast of Fuerteventura, Caleta de Beatriz is a rather remote, completely wild and sandy bay almost entirely cut off by the sea.
Of fine white sand and known for the tranquility of its calm waters Caleta de Beatriz is ideal for families as there are hardly any waves and its waters are shallow.
There is an area of rocks where small natural pools have been formed. However, the water only flows slowly back into the sea because of the rocks which form a natural barrier and the non-existent current. This in turn has led to a build-up of algae and seaweed and in places you have to walk on very slippery and boggy ground for a few meters until you are able to reach the seabed. This can also make for a rather unpleasant smell.
