Located in Barrika, this wild area of rocks and sand surrounded by spectacular cliffs. Is located just 25km from Bilbao. Made of stones and sand, some stairs facilitate the access to this beautiful sandy area which is open to the sea. Due to its features, it is often frequented by surfers, climbing lovers and naturists.
Barrika coast stretches for about 600 meters although this might differ from time to time. When the tides are low, the beach stretches even more while when they are high, it becomes smaller in size. This is a precaution to its visitors especially during the high tides although lifeguard services are available as from 11:00 hours every day.
Offering a sand and rock seabed which produces medium-quality waves. Its long, rippable left is its main point of interest. Careful on the shore, though! The surroundings are green and especially beautiful. Due to the fact it has a lot of rock makes is not ideal for bathing.

- Directions The coast of Barrika consists of the Barrika beach that is known to disappear when the tides are high. There are marked paths to the beach from the city center although it is not that easy due to the rock formations. There is also public transport by coach that visitors use to get to the beach. For those with cars, the beach has about 100 slots for cars that are kept safe by a security team. From Bilbao to this coast in Barrica, it is about 25 km. Admission is free of charge and it can be visited on any day.
