It is the last beach of Altea. Altea ends at the tip of the Mascarat and the Sierra de Bernia. Other gravel beaches in the area are La Solsida and Mascarat. Named La Cala de la Barra Grande because of its rocky formation known as La Barra, it forms a cove of bowls and rocks in its north face.
This beach is 50 meters. in length and has an average width of 7 meters and offers its visitors peace, quiet and almost isolation. La Barra beach is of old nudist tradition and is accessed on foot with difficulty due to not having signposted accesses.
