Punta Prima is the largest and most visited sandy beach on the south coast of the Maó area. This small and sandy beach of fine white sand earned the adjective "Sandy Bay" during English domination on the island.
It is an urban beach with all services, calm and shallow waters, rocky terraced areas, ideal for families. It receives a high number of visitors during the Summer months. There is a beautiful view of the island of Aire where you can perfectly see its slender lighthouse from the beach.
The beach is well sheltered from the waves thanks to the presence of the Island of Aire in front of its coast. Cala Peñas is 250 meters further south from Punta Prima beach, both beaches enjoy a certain amount of naturists as well as textiles.
