The beach of El Puntal is located right in the middle of Santander bay. Offering two and a half kilometers in length. The beach of El Puntal is, an extensive beach of golden sand with strong waves, from which you have beautiful views of the bay of Santander.

El Puntal is a small sandbank located on the right bank of the Villaviciosa estuary, a stretch of coastline that has been declared a Nature Reserve. It has a small wooded area, a beautiful golden sand beach and a marina just 100 meters away.
El Puntal is a somewhat isolated beach, so normally its occupation is very low. The beach offers calm waters, especially the back of the beach and is ideal to go with children.
Naturism is practiced on the beach and by the white sand dunes. Be sure to take wind protection if visiting here.

- Directions The easiest way to reach Playa de El Puntal is by boat, known as pedreñeras from Santander; in a journey of just 25 minutes aboard the boats of the Regina, which leave from the Embarcadero in the Quay of Calderon, next to the Palace of the Embarcadero and the Stone Crane. Or by walking from the town of Somo.
The visit to this beach is recommended as it enjoys great views of Magdalena peninsula.
