The charm and magic of Los Caños are largely concentrated in the area surrounding the lighthouse and Cape Trafalgar for its breathtaking views and the beautiful landscape that surrounds it.
It is also a place full of history from the Romans to the Arabs, which have left their mark and one of the most relevant historical events in these waters was the famous Battle of Trafalgar on 21 of October of 1805.
The beaches of the Lighthouse are wild and turbulent. One must be very cautious in the area surrounding the lighthouse. The loop of Trafalgar is a phenomenon that occurs southwest and west-southwest cape when produced are underwater currents of different directions caused by the tides. It is a phenomenon that can become very violent and is one of the most fearsome of the Straits. In such circumstances it is advisable to move away from the banks in order to avoid the drag and the breakers.
This long sandy beach is one of the quietest beaches in Los Caños. You will notice they have no bathing signs displayed. A very popular beach for its beautiful sunrises and more so its sunsets, at night you can see Africa and the lights of the Moroccan municipalities at night. This beach is popular with nudists that enjoy sunbathing.

- Directions To access it you have to leave the car a little far, at the junction of the regional road and the turnoff to the lighthouse. There is a large parking area and option to leave the car in the laybys. Gone are the years when you could park on the lighthouse road, now closed to vehicles. From there you can climb the promontory where the lighthouse is located from which there is a nice view of the area. Pay attention to the small cliff that falls from the lighthouse as there is no protection. The view from the top is beautiful. From here you can see in all its magnitude the fearsome currents of the lighthouse. You may decide it is easier to park near Zahora and have quicker access to the beach.
