Sønderstrand Beach located on the southwestern tip of the island of Rømø is one of the widest beaches in Denmark. This large flat blue flag sandy beach is an official naturist beach, which is popular with Germans.
It does not provide any shelter. Windsurfing and kite-buggying are popular sports, and you can drive your car legally onto the beach, however, there is a car-free area situated a few hundred meters north of Sønderstrand. Head 500 meters or so. It is more peaceful and you will notice most of the visitors around this section are naturists.
