Camber Sands is a beach at the village of Camber, East Sussex near Rye, East Sussex, England.
It is the only sand dune system in East Sussex and is east of the estuary of the River Rother at Rye Bay stretching as one expanse beyond the Kent border.
Camber Sands is surely the most beautiful beach on the East Sussex coast. The downside is that it gets very crowded in summer. In August, thousands of families, laden with deck chairs, windbreaks, cold boxes, and plastic buckets and spades, also closer proximity of Pontin's holiday camp, they trudge from the car park through the dunes to the beach – where they set up camp as close to each other as possible.
