The springs around Lake Mead National Recreation Area provide a unique opportunity for our visitors to experience nature’s version of a hot bath. Arizona Hot Spring is probably the most popular spring in the park and visited by thousands throughout the year. It's a great fall or winter or early spring hike. It can get very hot to hike in the summer, The site allows nudity.
The spring forms several pools that are located about 1,000 feet from the river, at the source the spring discharges highly mineralized water at a rate of approx 30 gallons per minute with a temperature of about 111 degrees Fahrenheit. Please take note of the hazard sign stating that there is something in the water that can go through your nasal cavity and is known to cause death so no dunking yourself under the water. There is a 20' ladder to be climbed to reach the best hot springs.
Critical Information These trails are closed during the summer months due to excessive heat.
