Playa Chihuahua is a naturist beach, located a few miles from the town centre in Punta del Este, Uruguay. This unique beach (At present it is the main nudist beach in Uruguay) has allowed nudist practices since the 60s, although it acquired legal status in 1994, and was recently legalized its status in 2000. It is a huge beach with gently sloping water. There are people with clothes and naked, in a pleasant coexistence; because the space is so great that nobody bothers. Parallel to the sea, there is also very large lagoon in which you can find some shelter when there is wind. There is a forest and dunes to explore.Chihuahua attracts thousands of sun-worshippers during its short summer season. After 3pm, however, the crowds are less intense and the heat less oppressive – although some claim it has the freshest air in the world – and you’ll almost certainly be treated to one of its amazingly photogenic sunsets.
